The PlayersAll project is opening a position for an R1 (first stage researcher) in Media and Communications and related fields in sociology, education, and psychology through HEI-Lab. The deadline for applications is the 4th of April 2022. The hired researcher will carry out field-work involving Action-research and Ethnography. The person hired will take part in scheduled missions (organized and funded by HEI-Lab) as part of a team developing a Virtual Reality game for occupational therapy, and will be tasked with gathering feedback from occupational therapy specialists and clients and carrying out field observations as these individuals play the game under development. he person hired will furthermore work at HEI-lab facilities at Lusófona University in Lisbon, Portugal, collating observation data and helping with tweaks and iterations to the design of a Virtual Reality game for occupational therapy according to the data. Applicants with an interest in Serious Game development and inclusivity in media will be favored. Willingness to integrate participation in the project into a master’s dissertation in Communication Studies or related fields (including but limited to Education and Psychology) will be strongly favored.
