PlayersAll now has original 3D-printed adapters for the Oculus Controllers. The Village Druid game does not require the player to move, and uses only motion tracking and triggers on the controller. During tests, our playtesters occasionally got confused with parts of the controller that did nothing in the game. This is a sensitive issue in the field of UX (User Experience) and game design. Project members Filipe Luz and José Neves are experts in industrial design and UX, and designed and produced a set of robust, light 3D-printed adapters (see pictures below). These can be quickly and securely fastened with pieces of tape, and allow users to comfortably wield the controls without dead inputs (people can’t see the controllers in VR). This is especially relevant for neophyte users and people in sensitive contexts, such as the Druid’s target-audience.
